What it is good at
24.1 megapixels. The same resolution as bodies several times the price. Canon did not cut the sensor to hit this price point.
It takes every EF and EF-S lens. The deepest and cheapest used lens market of any system, which matters more than the body when you are starting.
Built-in Wi-Fi. Photos move to your phone without a cable, which is how most people actually share them.

Native ISO stops at 6,400, the lowest ceiling of any camera we cover. The expanded H setting reaches 12,800 but softens noticeably. A cheap 50mm f/1.8 does more for this body indoors than any setting will.

Three frames a second and nine points is the honest limit. You will catch one frame of a moment rather than choosing from five, so time the press rather than relying on the burst.
